CREATING A CHARACTER
Before Starting: Please take note of the following things.
Students must be from the ages 15-19. Staff members can be a lot older (but not younger than 29, please). Ages besides the range stated here will be rejected, like a 1000+ year old one.
The number of characters you are originally allowed is 1. However, sometimes we may write journals announcing differently.
It is recommended that you look at the student population before creating a character for the sake of diversity. Keep in mind things like race, gender, appearance, powers, etc while you're browsing. We'd like to keep our school diverse and interesting!
DIVERSE STUDENT POPULATION = HAPPY ADMINS!
We recommend that you do research on your character's intended background if you do not have prior knowledge. For example, if you are making a vampire, research a bit about vampires. What powers do they have? What mannerisms? Weaknesses?
RESEARCH = GOOD, WELL-THOUGHT OUT, "ROUND" CHARACTERS = HAPPY ADMINS!
Please Refrain your character having too much depressing pasts. This is not a school not a mental hospital for the traumatized or depressed. Please as long as you can avoid it, please do.
Please, when creating your characters, try to stick to one kind of power. For example, when you state that your character has mind-related powers, stick to that. Don't add that they can control fire and water as well. Hint: Making a character is a lot more complicated than you think; Research!
No Mary Sues/Gary Stus. Admins hold the right to ask you to change things about your character or denying your character completely if they do not follow the guidelines.
READ THE FAQ. READ THE FAQ. READ THE FAQ!
Make sure that when you create a character there is a slot open for that certain dorm you are applying to. Open slots are shown on the front page.
1. Choose a Race
There are eight races that are accepted here in Rosette Academy. When you chose your race, this will also decide which dormitory you belong to. Please create a character that has a spot open for them (information on open slots available on the front page).
Hybrids (a cross between a human and any non-human species)
Homonculus (an artificial human, can be considered a clone) WITH NO significant powers
Homonculus WITH magical/spiritual powers
Monsters (ANY species/type/culture [ex: Yokai, Tengu, Oni], Seirei)
2. Understanding Dorms
A further explanation of dorms is provided below. Please put your character in a dorm with available space (information on open slots available on the front page).
humans, hybrids, demigods
Red Rose students are pre-dominantly the most normal group of students.
students will wear red ribbons, laces and neckties as part of their uniform
for vampires, demons, monsters, ghosts/dead soul
Blue Rose students are the 'darker' group, considering the races belonging in this group.
students will wear blue ribbons, laces and neckties as part of their uniform
for angels, witches/warlocks, and faires/faeries/pixies
Yellow Rose students are the 'magic' group, considering the races belonging in this group are almost all magic users.
students will wear yellow ribbons, laces and neckties as part of their uniform
3. Receiving a Key
Once you choose your race and dorm, you will get a key that opens the gate back to your world. The key that you get is determined by your dorm AND race. The keys listed below are given to each student enrolled and also serves as a school ID.
Key of Gaia: for ordinary humans, hybrids, and demigods
Thanatos' Key: for demons, vampires, and ghosts/dead souls
Disgaea's Key: for monsters
Key of Eden: for angels
Pentacle Key: for witches/warlocks, elves, and fairies/faeries/pixies
Detailed information on keys will be up soon.
4. Creating your Application
Now that the general requirements have been set up, it's time to create your character. Please read the "Rules" journal as it contains some information about applications (use your own art, no Mary Sues/Gary Stus, etc). When drawing your student in the application, you MUST draw them in their respective uniforms (accessories not included as the uniform are also allowed, but please keep the uniform recognizable). Links to blank student applications are available on the front page.
When the application is ready, please fill in the biography provided below and put it in your artist's comments.
**When filling out weight, please be reasonable. Please use this BMI [Body Mass Index] chart as a reference to how much your character will weigh in accordance to their height. Example: If they are tall/strong/have big breasts/etc, then please make them in a bit heavier, etc.
You may also add other categories such as relationship status, voice, conditions on powers, orientation, etc. The more detailed, the better.
With your application now complete, submit a join request with a link to your join request in the note section. Hopefully your character fits all of the requirements and will be accepted without a problem. If we see anything we don't like, we still will most likely accept you but will ask you to change the problems by commenting on the joining process. If your character is completely unacceptable, we will reject your character but you are welcome to make a "better" version/character.
If there is anything you're unsure about, ask.
Please be creative! We look forward to seeing your character.
